19th Century Beaded Men's Slippers
Spectacular in every way, these 19th Century men's house shoes or slippers are quite an unusual find! The uppers are fully beaded with squirrels taking up the top of the vamp. Bordered and surrounded by flowers on a background of green. The foot beds of each slipper is finished in Chinese red lacquer on leather soles with a short stacked heel.
The beading is exceptional and the interior is lined in natural kid leather and a narrow silk ribbon outlines the open edge. Overall the condition is exceptional with very minor bead loss to be found only on the very tips of the toes just above the juncture with the soles. This can be seen in the third photo of the slide show and does not detract in the least from this amazing pair of men's slippers.
