1950s New Look Coat by Hattie Carnegie
Dating to the early 1950s this Carnegie Blue, new look coat would have been at the height of fashion when it was made. The fabric is a bit of a mystery. It is likely a wool and silk blend with perhaps some linen and is a medium weight with a slightly rough hand to it. I have seen this type of fabric referred to as alpaca but I just can't be sure what the fiber content is without further testing.
